What happens if a participant orders a product in the registration form? To which page is he forwarded? Does he get a confirmation email?
The participant orders a T-shirt. The T-shirt is added to the shopping cart. You can see the price incl. and excl. VAT. Only the products that you choose to be available for this participant (dependency fields in product settings) will be visible.
Participant clicks on register and is redirected to a page where he can select a payment type. The products that are ordered are visible again.
Note! In payment settings you always have to choose a payment type, otherwise there is no button available and participants cannot continue to register.
Participant chooses payment type
I. Pay by bank transfer
Participant is redirected to the payment conditions page (if this is created), to confirm the payment conditions. If the payment conditions page is not created, the participant is redirected to the order overview.
II Pay online
Participant is redirected to the online payment and pays immediately. An overview of his registration including the products he orders will be visible.
When do they receive confirmation emails?
I Pay by bank transfer
After choosing payment by bank transfer (and confirming the payment conditions if page exists) the participant will receive a registration confirmation email.
II Pay online
After choosing payment online and finalizing the payment online, the participant receives a registration confirmation email and a payment confirmation email simultaneously.
Tip: If you would like to show the shopping cart in the registration confirmation and/or payment confirmation email you could use the %products% merge tag.
If you only want one email to be send out when an online payment is made, you can use the registration confirmation email. In the page settings you can choose not to send out an email when payment is confirmed.
- Add a 'payment was successful' sentence to the registration confirmation email.
- Add the %products% merge tag to have a nice overview of the shopping cart.
- If also invoices are used as payment method you might not want to have a payment confirmation sentence in your registration confirmation email (the participant has not paid yet).
- If a payment is not required to register you might not want to have a payment confirmation sentence in your registration confirmation email.
One session (registration with payments) can take maximum 60 minutes. If a participant has not finished his registration (chose a payment type) within the 60 minutes, he needs to start the registration again. In this case the participant will receive an automatically generated email, which says that he has not finished his registration yet.
