|Note: Make sure you are logged-in and in the correct event|
You can give participants in your event the option to unsubscribe from email communications. This feature helps you as a planner to be GDPR compliant and, most importantly, to respect the privacy of your customers.
Follow the steps below for the walkthrough:
Insert the 'GDPR "Unsubscribe" Link' merge tag.
We advice you to embed the merge tag in an "Unsubscribe" word at the end of the email.
Now, whenever a participants clicks on the provided link they will be directed to a page that confirms un-subscription.
Participants can still choose to re-subscribe from there which will lead them to confirm subscription.
If a planner sends an email to a participant that has chosen to not receive any more emails, then they will see in the email log for that participant that the email has not been successfully sent. Instead, it will have status "BLACKLISTED". This means that the email address is in a black list and that they won't receive any more email communications for any event from your organisation.
Furthermore, participants with a blacklisted email address will be assigned status 'GDPR blocked.'
